STEPS FOR EXTERIOR WATERPROOFING:
1. DIGGING - Dig and remove all clay, dirt, concrete or debris, all work is done
in a neat and professional manner.
2. WASHING WALLS - Scrape and power wash walls down properly, check and locate cracks and damaged wall
areas, preparing walls for waterproofing
coats.
3. FIRST, PURGING COAT - 3/8'' thickness of Portland cement type M and sand
mixture trawled on.
4. SECOND, IRONITE COAT - Applying a metal fiber brush coat to fresh Purging
coat forming metal, cement Membrane for a watertight seal on wall.
5. THIRD, RUBBER EMOLLITION COAT- Rolled on rubber membrane tar coat over
Ironite and cement Purging coats sealing wall completely.
6. VESQUEEN - Plastic covers wall from top to bottom and acts as a separation
between the waterproofing on wall and stone backfill so they will not bond and
become solid.
7. REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING 4'' DRAIN TILE AND 4'' DOWNSPOUT PIPES - ASTM D 3034
/ SDR 3500 PVC Grade Perforated Pipe for Drain tile at footer grade with clean
outs to grade cut and capped for future excess into the pipe in all corners of
foundation, ASTM 3034 / SDR 3500 PVC grade solid pipe for 4''Storm Sewer
Downspout pipe above grade and tied in with existing downspouts on house for
gutters and Yard or Driveway drains. All new PVC pipes to be glued.
8. STONE BACKFILL - River Rock #57 Washed Gravel, all natural stone backfill all
the way up 1 foot from grade in Landscape areas and to grade in concrete areas.
This type of stone never becomes a solid material and will always allow water to
drain through it. Unlike other types of stones such as limestone, gravel, slag,
etc, that have additives, debree, steel and dirt in them. In time these other
types of stone materials will become a solid and prevent proper water drainage.
Waterproofing contractors use these other types of stone materials to cut back
on job's costs.
9. SOIL - 1 foot fresh Top Soil over a Felt Bedding higher than grade, graded
slopped away from basement foundation in landscape areas. Felt Bedding allows
only water to drain through it and prevents Fresh Top Soil from filtering
through the stone.
10. FINISHING TOUCH - Your Yard, Landscape areas, concrete areas and grass areas
